Brunswick all change
The Brunswick Corporation, the parent of Mercury Marine, the world’s largest manufacturer of marine engines, reorganised its boats business to create new sales opportunities for the Mercury, Mariner, Force and MerCruiser brands.

David Hough resigned as managing director of National Boat Shows and the then BB editor Iain Sutherland applauded Mr Hough’s efforts. Mr Sutherland went on to say the changes put into effect by the then BMIF executive chairman Tony Beechey were not universally welcomed.

Andrew Burgess joined Sowester as a sales representative for the north of England; Ian ‘Chips’ Howarth was appointed by Jack Holt as its new UK sales manager; Neil Watson joined Aqua-Marine as its northern area salesman, based in Helensburgh; Matthew Shaw was appointed as its managing agent overseeing the UK agents by Splashdown.
