Going to METS this year?

25 Nov 2011

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) is proud to be hosting two useful technical events at the 2011 Marine Equipment Trade Show in Amsterdam.

ICOMIA’s 1st International Hybrid Marine Propulsion Conference: 14 November, 9.00-18.00.
In the first conference of its kind, ICOMIA will report all aspects of marine hybrid propulsion systems in detail. The conference will review the technical issues surrounding the design and implementation of marine hybrids and provide objective data on their advantages and disadvantages. It will draw heavily on new information from the EU-funded HYMAR project.

The presentations will be of interest to anyone considering investing in hybrids including boatbuilders, equipment suppliers, systems integrators and naval architects.

Speakers include Mastervolt, Steyr Motors, ABYC, EnerSys, Bruntons Propellers, INSEAN, Triskel Marine and ICOMIA.

Jacques Woeldgen from the European Commission will present the EU policy context. For more information and to register to attend, please visit www.hymar.org/conference

Workshop on New Technologies: 16 November, 13.30-17.00
For the third year running, the popular ICOMIA and European Boatbuilder collaboration Workshop on New Technologies will be held at METS. The workshop is free to attend and features an impressive line-up of expert industry speakers and current topics.

This year’s special highlights feature prominent naval architect Gerard Dykstra presenting his vision of “Future Boat Design” and Brazilian marine industry association ACOBAR’s Jorge Nasseh speaking about the highly topical “Boatbuilding Regulations/Standards in Brazil”.

The Workshop on New Technologies is tailored for boatbuilders operating internationally and those who self certify their boats, but everybody interested is encouraged to register. It’s free to attend but registration is recommended as the limited seats will go quickly.
