Portsmouth Poll - October

11 Nov 2010

 Poll-600

Poll01-BW-webPoll always thought The Ting Tings was a rather exceptional British pop duo. But now she hears British Waterways has jumped on the bandwagon with its collaboration with Debretts, the etiquette experts, that aims to get cyclists to behave in a rather more polite manner when coming up to pedestrians on a canal towpath.

BW is promoting a Two Tings campaign asking cyclists to slow down and give a Ting Ting, and asking pedestrians to listen out for bikes. The campaign made an impact with Victorian policemen promenading on their penny farthings, ladies stepping out on their stilts, and vintage Victorian police officers patrolling the Regent’s Canal towpath to emphasise how polite society was in Victorian times.

Poll02-Millinder-webPoll thinks everyone should take the opportunity to get dressed up whenever possible and offers this charming picture of Marathon’s Tim Millinder getting into character at the recent Marathon Scottish trade day…

Finally, a couple of pictures from the recent PSP Southampton Boat Show. The girls from the Motorcats Press Gang descended on the Media Centre on Press Day creating some friendly havoc and chaos for a while.

Next, we have Frank Dixie of title sponsor PSP sitting with some lovelies. Quite why, Poll’s not sure, but pictures of pretty girls are always welcome…
