My first job…
A sports instructor and lifeguard. Great fun!

How I got into this industry…
Water sports eventually led me to completing a degree at the Warsash School of Navigation. I then went sailing for a few years before deciding to have a “proper” career. A dubious decision at best but hey, what a great industry.

The best (or worst?) advice I've ever received…
Make full use of every opportunity. It may not come again.

You should really visit…
The Square and Compass Pub at Worth Matravers on the Purbecks in Dorset. Simply the best pub in the world.

One thing that’s dear to my heart is…
Food! I love eating so I’ve learned to cook. Michel Roux once said: “People who cook without butter, are generally unhappy people”. I am not unhappy!

I’m a secret follower of…
Portsmouth Poll! Other than that I have no secrets. And I never lie!

My most over-used saying or phrase is…
“Get a wriggle on” or “Chop-Chop”.

Favourite activity away from work…
Anything that allows me time with my daughter. Horses are a favourite for us both!

How I cope with stress…
I walk the dog well away from other people! Oh, and the occasional visit to the pub next door helps.

My advice to Portsmouth Poll is…
Look behind you!
