Joint AGMs share networking and training
The event incorporated professional training, ranging from the use of new communication techniques and social media, through to a ‘hands-on’ session analysing and testing fuel, as part of an educational demonstration of the issues surrounding bio-fuels, showing how to prevent fuel bugs from forming in tanks, hoses and fittings.
The evening brought together members and their partners for a social evening and dinner, held at the Bristol Hotel.
The following day members attended their association AGMs, combined with the opportunity to tour the historic SS Great Britain. The event also included the presentation of the Leslie Oliver Award for Most Promising New Member, which was presented to Guy Simmons of GMS Marine Surveys in Felixstowe.
Mr Simmons, who has recently upgraded from Graduate to Affiliate Member said: “The YBDSA has been instrumental in helping me develop my new career path in marine surveying.”
