Ronstan moves to Marathon, launches 20 and 30 Orbit series

Ronstan recently appointed Marathon Leisure as its distributor for the UK and Ireland. And it also has a new technical distributor, SailTek, which has been formed by Jason Belben, a long standing employee of Ronstan, who will be distributing the Ronstan range of batten and ballslide systems, as well as being involved in big boat fit-outs and special projects.

On the product front, Ronstan has extended its Orbit line of performance racing blocks to include new Series 30 and Series 20 blocks sized for racing dinghies, enabling even the smallest dinghies to enjoy the technical advantages of Orbit Block technology.

The Series 30 and 20 blocks have the highest strength-to-weight ratio available and are up to 38% stronger in working load than the nearest competitor. Their advanced fibre and polymer construction uses materials up to 10 times stronger than steel, and Ronstan’s exclusive ball bearing system evenly minimises friction across the full working load range for a super smooth feel.

The Series 30 blocks range from singles that feature an integrated thru-hub becket option, to triple combination blocks with cleats. Both lashing and shackle head blocks are available, including several models that can convert from one to the other.

All Series 30s accept line diameters up to 8mm (5/16”) and can carry working loads (M.W.L) up to 300 kg (661 lbs).

The Series 20 block is designed to handle the high loads of small diameter racing control lines and can be installed using a through-hub lashing system. Further, blocks can be lashed together to create powerful multi-purchase systems and the hollow hub can be utilised as a low profile becket option when required.

The Series 20 carries working loads up to 250kg (550lbs) MWL and accepts line diameters to 6mm (1/4”).
