Distributor’s Update 2011 - Midland Chandlers
Midland Chandlers has over 30 years of history of suppling equipment for inland waterways craft, but it originally sprang from the Teddersley boatbuilding and hire enterprise because, the company says, it found back in the 70s “ordering equipment from boat yards was a hit-and-miss affair”.
However, it has kept up with the times. It has a thorough online presence, and while trade and wholesale orders are distributed from its 35,000 sq ft warehouse, there are also four showrooms - Preston Brook, Braunston, Penkridge and Willington - carrying a wide range of products ranging from aerials to wind generators.
The company also takes great pride in providing an efficient and economical service. It aims to despatch orders to trade customers the same day to ensure they are received promptly - a dedicated sales team is based at head office to assist with technical queries and provide customers with product information. As the company says, it “realises the need for a fast and attentive service, along with someone to deal with queries on the other end of the phone.”
Further, the company prides itself on its product range, and new lines are added on a regular basis to keep customers up to date with the latest innovations in the market place. A price list is available for trade customers and a discount scheme operates for customers buying in bulk.
