The Marine Climate System from Dometic
Ready for 2009, Dometic introduced its Marine Climate System at METS, a new, compact, self-contained air conditioning system designed for ‘ off the shelf’ purchase and easy installation
It is available in two capacities – 5,000 and 15,000 BTU/hr. With the addition of a dual-duct kit, the 15,000 BTU/hr system provides a second air outlet to enhance capacity or for an additional cabin area. The high-velocity blower is rotatable, allowing horizontal or vertical positioning.
And when it is hot outside, Dometic has the CoolBreeze system, designed to point a targeted supply of ambient or chilled air to where it is needed.
The Dometic Group company, WAECO, is also extending its refrigerator range with the CoolMatic CR-140, which is designed to operate even when the boat is heeling at 30 degrees. Doors can be securely fastened at the top and the bottom and all models feature the close/vent function as well as variable door mounts.
The CoolMatic CR-140 is tropical-rated equivalent to DIN EN ISO 7371 and features the same generous facilities as other WAECO models including bottle holders, storage trays, and a vegetable/salad bin, with a three-star freezer compartment. It suitable for 12V and 24V DC as well as 100V-240V AC current.
Dometic also presented the 8900 Macerating Toilet at METS, available in 12V DC or 24V DC versions with outlets for either wall or floor discharge. Operated by an electric wall-mounted touchpad which incorporates ‘power on’ and ‘full tank’ indicator lights, the 8900 toilet’s ‘rough-sea’ flush setting allows users to dispose of waste without the use of water, conserving water as well as eliminating the potential of contaminated spills during turbulent conditions.
To compliment this, the company is also introducing its new series of DHT-L Holding Tank Systems which eliminate odour and ensure maximum reliability, even when under pressure, and a novel new Ultrasonic Level Indicator which provides a simple, constant and reliable method to monitor tank capacity.
