Kayospruce is to exhibit at Seawork for the first time this year and will bring some new ranges of product straight to the commercial marine market, which are long established as leading brands in the marine leisure and superyacht arenas.
Many of the products from the Kayospruce specialised textile materials are already used widely in the commercial sector and Seawork has provided the perfect opportunity to introduce new product ranges to buyers, specifiers and project managers.
One key element is the large volumes of stock which Kayospruce carries in its warehouse in the South of England, to ensure a fast and efficient supply to customers in the UK, Europe and further afield. Modern acrylic canvases are held in large quantities, along with the more traditional cotton canvases and orders can be placed for small or large quantities, which are cut to measure on site.
Many of the exterior fabrics carry flame retardant or fire resistant approvals, are breathable and are mildew, as well as UV resistant.
Recently launched new products on display include CoolMat and Airmat AG+, which are designed as spacer fabrics keeping upholstery and cushions in a damp marine environment mildew free and resistant to harmful bacteria.
Both products are well suited for offshore workboats and larger ships and have proven extremely popular on large blue water yachts. CoolMat is a high tech fabric, designed to manage moisture through improved air circulation, to reduce humidity build up while people sleep. It creates a mini micro climate keeping sleepers cool and dry, whether in an outdoor or indoor environment making it ideally suited to go over the top of any mattress.
The three-dimensional Airmat AG+ is designed to allow improved airflow, which dramatically reduces moisture build up through its 8mm thickness. This provides a solution to the age old problem of left over condensation and resulting mildew growth under bunk mattresses or cushioned areas on board and is easily fitted underneath any mattress.
A further innovative and recent product into the Kayospruce range is Glowfast. Designed initially for Round the World racing yachts for optimum sail trim at night, this glow in the dark product charges in natural sunlight or torchlight and will glow for up to 20 hours. It has many applications from safety labelling to signs for marinas and port authorities.

Two marine logistics experts will be on hand to provide companies with the most up-to-date transportation advice at this year’s Seawork exhibition.
Simon O’Neill and Denis Langridge, from global shipping and boat transportation firm PSP will be stationed at the event and able to advise visitors on the best way to transport their boats and products around the world. The pair have around 80 years’ experience between them in commercial boat transportation.
Mr O’Neill joined PSP in 1999, after spending 30 years working for the FBM Group, where he held many senior positions in management and was responsible for shipping commercial ferries and patrol boats to numerous countries, including Hong Kong, the Philippines, USA, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. Director of PSP’s Marine Services, he also served for five years on the British Marine Equipment Association (BMEA) council.
Mr Langridge, who has been with PSP for six years, has worked in the marine industry all his life and has been responsible for loading all types of boats, from military vessels to commercial catamarans. Having worked in shipbuilding for a considerable amount of time, he has been on the client side and provides PSP’s customers with expertise and support.

Turbo Dynamics will showcase its specialised work at Seawork International. Following its crowd pulling debut at Autosport International, the exquisite Garrett GT42 Turbo Dynamics’ modified turbocharger statue, aptly dubbed ‘The Medusa’, will stun the 6000 high-calibre Seawork visitors.
With Medusa’s intertwining Primary Design crafted exhaust pipes flowing upward - two of which are Zircotec ceramic coated - there is no doubt that the evidence of TD’s (Turbo Dynamics) philosophy Quality Without Compromise is themed perfectly in her beauty.
Having achieved triumphant success at Seawork in 2009, TD increased its marine customer base phenomenally. As a result, TD is back this year to prove itself once again an expert in the marine turbocharger marketplace, where it has been active for the last 19 years. Highly experienced turbocharger technicians will be on hand to advise and to trouble shoot any turbocharger problems on their stand 158.

State of the Art Echomax Active-XS-Dual Band Radar Target Enhancer receives a signal from transmitting X or S Band Radar, amplifies and returns a stronger signal, increasing the likelihood of detection thereby reducing the risk of collision and helps to alert oncoming vessels of your position with unique identification facility to identify S or X Band Radar paints.
SOLAS 2.1.7 states [Radar reflector]: All ships irrespective of size shall have:.if less than 150 gross tonnage and if practicable, a radar reflector, or other means, to enable detection by ships navigating by radar at both 9 [X-band] and 3 GHz. [S-band].
The MCA is awaiting the availability of our dual band and will then consider whether the fitting of such a unit should be mandatory.
They will not consider legislating with only the single SeaMe dual band available which is the current position.
