Two waste water tanks from Vetus
Vetus says a European Committee directive states that all vessels will be required to have a waste water system by 2009, so it has introduced two waste water tank systems, for the temporary storage of waste and " black" water, on board small leisure craft.
In both types of system the installation procedure has been kept as simple as possible, for easy self-installation and to keep the fitting cost as low as possible, if a professional installer is used to carry out the work.
In both cases the tanks are made of a rigid polythene construction and these are completely odour-impermeable.
Discharge can be carried out, either when well out to sea and beyond the legal minimum distance offshore, or for inland water vessels, into a holding tank or sewer, at an appropriate location ashore.
Vetus says the "ready to use" system - shown here - comes complete with all necessary fittings and accessories and has tank capacities of either 42 or 61 litres. The system is supplied with a Vetus 12v or 24v DC electric diaphragm pump. A level sensor is supplied, which can be connected to an existing dashboard gauge, or ordered separately.
All input and discharge connections are easily accessible at the top of the tank and a full range of additional fittings, hoses and accessories are available, to complete the installation.
The price for the 42 litre system is £761.40 and the 61 litre systems is £846.00.
