MES and Garmin in Christmas tie-up
Bristol-based marine electronics specialists, MES has teamed up with Garmin to offer a cracking Christmas deal on the Garmin 152i fixed mount GPS. You’ll see change out of £100, which means your Christmas budget can stretch that little bit further.
It’s a full function, traditional GPS navigator with displays of position, course, speed and navigation data on a 4” greyscale screen. It features 500 named waypoints, 20 routes and has a track plotter function.
It doesn’t have electronic mapping, but it does have a built in European database of buoys and lights, an NMEA input and output, so it can be interfaced with other onboard electronics and a nice feature of anchor and off track alarms. It’s also totally waterproof for cockpit or flybridge mounting.
The 152 has been designed as a stand-alone ‘traditional’ GPS navigator, but it’s also ideal as a back-up system for those with the latest in electronic wizardry.
