Nauticalia’s SafaSail gives some head protection

America’s Cup sailors these days wear safety helmets. And, as most injuries on board sailboats come from being hit by the boom, it makes sense to wear head protection in whatever boat you’re sailing.

Nauticalia has its SafaSail cap that has a hard injection moulded shell for protection and foam padding for comfort. The caps meet the requirements of EU Standard Specifications EN812 (similar to building site bump caps).

The caps area available with two peak options - the large peak protects against bright sunshine and the narrow peak version lets the helm to look up and see the wind indicator at the top of the mast.

Retails at £24.99.
