Hyde has a long-standing reputation in the dinghy market and in the last decade the company has been busy applying the same model to the yacht arena.

The company’s design team is particularly skilled at working with one-design classes and Hyde has made its presence felt in classes such as the Bénéteau 40.7.

More recently, Hyde secured the contract to supply the Clipper Round the World Race fleet, demonstrating the full breadth of a product range that spans Optimists, through to Olympic classes, IRC racers, cruising and the ocean-racing arena.

Hyde also launched its online shop earlier this year. Sales and marketing director Richard Franks says the online shop is already proving a success, particularly in the one-design dinghy market.

'We are continually developing our products in collaboration with the top sailors in each class, our latest sail designs are available to order online,' he added. 'A great example is the new foiling International Moth mainsail, which we have just launched following development work over the winter. Customers can see the product in action on the racing circuit, and order their own sail at a click of a button.'

We still offer a personal measuring and consultation service for those customers who are after a more bespoke product, he added. 'The web shop simply allows us to automate the ordering process for those who want a standard product, freeing our team to concentrate their skills on custom sails.'
