Distributor’s Update 2011 - Marine & Industrial LLP
Marine & Industrial, a nationwide distributor of key brands to the marine trade and chandlery market, has been celebrating 25 years of ‘keeping the trade moving’.
Known for distributing brands such as West System, Sika, ITW Plexus, Seajet Paints, 3M and many others on a next working-day basis, Marine & Industrial took on a new brand in 2011. Festool is a leading manufacturer of precision power tools and while these are a new venture for the company, it says sales are already strong. Further, standing firmly behind its claim of good quality and long lasting machines, the manufacturer has put a no-quibble three year guarantee on all its power tools.
In January 2011, Marine & Industrial were presented with the prestigious ‘Sika Distributor of the Year’ award for the second time in five years. M&I explains that in 2011 Sika re-launched their marine range of adhesives under the name ‘i’ cure. This ‘i’ cure (intelligent cure) range offers all the existing benefits of the Sika Marine range while making sure that new legislation guidelines are met. Further, the new range has resulted in a fresh design, making it really stand out against its competitors.
M&I is also releasing two new products from Seajet Paints – Seajet 031 Samurai and Seajet Professional. The 031 Samurai product is a self polishing antifouling with good overall properties, aimed at the ‘price sensitive’ users. Retailing at £56.99 inc vat for 2.5L 031 Samurai offers superb value and captures a part of the market not yet tapped into by Seajet.
Seajet Professional is a ‘trade only’ self polishing antifouling in 5L tins. This can be applied in a single coat by trade yards, giving a superb finish even when over-coating a different colour.
Finally, Marine & Industrial will be launching its new fully interactive web-site with trade log-in facilities allowing access to real-time stock levels and pricing from January 2012. On-line order history will also be included as will ‘repeat order’ functions to make ordering more simple. The company will also be adding a whole range of technical application videos for many of our products throughout 2012. Of course the company adds, for all those who prefer to deal with the team in the office, “feel free to continue to call”.
