In Sweden you can only buy sulphur free class diesel - its price is approximately 30% higher than yours in the UK.

The boats at the show were bigger, faster and better equipped than ever. But the prospective customer is reminded almost daily that global warming is with us, and looks critically at the economy and environmental performance of everything from their car to their dishwasher.

The sulphur free diesel has approximately 8% less energy content than ordinary diesel - equivalent to approximately one prop size. This means with sulphur free diesel you get around 8% less for your money (except for the new Volvo Penta engines ) The stepped hull design we are doing for Sealine and Nimbus boats has about 8 - 10 % less drag than a normal comparison boat, which reduces the fuel cost by about 15 - 18 % compared at the same speed. The technology is a direct spin off from racing boats we have designed over 10 years with 14 World Championships in offshore racing.

The Sealine T50 is an example of new hull technology without a stepped hull but still very efficient. We are constantly researching for new hull technology to get lower drag and less waves.
