Sperry Top-Sider unveils GripX3

09 Nov 2011

Sperry Top-Sider will unveil its new GripX3 technology at METS as a prelude to its release to the European market, expected in spring 2012.

Developed by the brand that invented the world’s first boat shoe, the collection of performance footwear has been specifically designed for competitive sailors who require comfort and flexibility with an emphasis on superior grip and traction.

The GripX3 collection has been in development for over a year and has been created in collaboration with Team Sperry Top-Sider, a global team of more than 30 Olympic class sailors who exhaustively tested the technology in a range of extreme conditions.

The highlight of the collection is the SeaRacer+ which is enhanced by the Sperry Top-Deck 360, a proprietary technology that offers advanced grab and grip on the upper of the shoe.

The other style headlining the collection is the SeaHiker, a sailing boot for dinghy sailors which features an extra 4mm of upper padding on top of the boot’s 4mm neoprene shell, as well as Hydrogrip Rubber and Adaptive Wave Siping.

The SeaSock - a bootie made from neoprene available in high and low that is ideal for trapeze sailors – and the SeaRacer – a second athletic style – are also part of Sperry Top-Sider’s new performance sailing collection.
