Jabsco's waste management tank
Although this pic makes it look as if the driver is romancing the tank, apparently it is kept well out of sight...
ITT Jabsco's latest solution for on-board waste management has sophisticated electronic remote control and measurement facilities, complete with a heavy-duty macerator evacuation pump, and a robust 30 litre (7.5 gallon) polyethylene holding tank.
The tank features LEDs to let you know how full the tank is, electronic sensors that take two readings to ensure accuracy in rough conditions, and the pump automatically stops when it senses the tank is empty. It will also switch off if it detects no fluid movement, which protects the motor and impeller from damage and also avoids the possibility of pipe rupture, if, for example, it is pumping against a closed sea-cock.
The three outlets on the tank allow for emptying over-side through a skin fitting, or dock side evacuation, as well as for a vent pipe. There is also an inspection hatch for tank cleaning.
The package provides an easy to install all inclusive system, either for OEM's or as a retro-fit by boat owners. Maximum dimensions are 31cm (12 1/8th inches) high x 44cm (17 3/8th inches) long x 36cm (14 inches) wide.
