The latch can work in horizontal or vertical positions

Southco Marine has released a magnetic deadbolt latch, which brings together a positive deadbolt engagement with push-to-close convenience.

The Polar creates a reliable solution for securing sliding drawers and swinging doors against accidental opening - despite forces generated by high seas.

The latch's unique design uses magnetic action to engage the deadbolt with a subtle confirming click as the latch on the closing door or drawer aligns with a mating keeper installed on the frame of the enclosure.

Because it works based on alignment, it is ideally suited for soft-close drawer runner systems. And because the magnetic action operates in both vertical and horizontal orientations, it is an equally adept solution for both door and drawer applications. The magnetic hold on the deadbolt is released with a light press on a handle inset.

Made from corrosion-resistant materials, and featuring powerful nickel-plated neodymium iron boron magnets, these latches are designed for long life in marine and RV interior applications.

Sleek styling, and multiple finish options - including satin chrome, polished chrome, polished brass, and black- provide possibilities for matching the aesthetics of high-end interior designs, including compatibility with many other hardware designs in the Southco One Look collection.

Also available from Southco are a range of marine-grade mini compartment drains are available from Southco Marine in three compact sizes. These offer boat-builders and boatyards cost-effective and easy-to-install drainage solutions for hatch-cover gutters, small compartments, tight corners, and other isolated deck areas.

Available to fit standard 12.7mm (1/2"), 15.9mm (5/8") and 22.2mm (7/8") ID drain tubing, these fixtures expose only a low-profile polished stainless steel flange above the deck surface, matching the appearance of other Southco Marine drain, thru-hull, and scupper designs for a coordinated look throughout.
