Before we’ve all even started thinking about Southampton, National Boat Shows is pushing hard on the 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show at ExCeL in January next year. NBS says almost 85% of the space has been applied for…

BOAT SHOW: Applications for the 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show flooded in to meet last Friday’s deadline, with almost 85% of the space at the 2010 show being applied for, says organiser, National Boat Shows (NBS).

This not only includes all major manufacturers, key exhibitors and the 10 exhibitors who took the largest size stands in 2010, but also many new and returning exhibitors. This includes Laserperformance (Europe) Ltd and Berthon.

Some exhibitors are also taking more space at the 2011 show, such as Northshore Yachts and Key Yachting. Interest for the new Watersports & Holidays section is also high with exhibitors, including Fat Face, keen to take advantage of this dedicated area and large watersports action pool.

‘I’ve been impressed by the developments for 2011, particularly having all of the boats – power and sail – in one big hall and also the new used boat section outside on the water,’ said Robert Braithwaite of Sunseeker. ‘London has always been an important show for Sunseeker and the direction it is taking will make it even more so.’

Paul Heyes, Key Yachting said: ‘We took three boats to the 2010 show on the boardwalk and were pleased with the outcome. But having now seen the presentation we are very excited by the plans and developments and have applied for almost double the space. The changes are exactly what the show needs and Key Yachting would like to play a big part in the show’s future.’

Exhibitors have signed up for space 10 months in advance, says NBS, keen to enjoy a 15% early commitment discount (ECD) as well as ensuring they are first in line when it comes to the allocation process. The 2011 show will have a brand new layout, in the new extension of ExCeL as NBS refreshes the vital showcase for the industry.

‘We’re delighted to have applications in for almost 85% of the 2010 show space,’ said NBS MD Andrew Williams. ‘This is a strong indication of support from the industry with exhibitors recognising the value and importance of this important event. Since we started conducting our research at London in January we’ve had much support from the industry with regards to the attention we are giving the London show and approval of the exciting developments we’re putting in place in response to exhibitor and visitor feedback.’

More interaction
NBS say it’s also encouraging all exhibitors to get involved with delivering entertainment and a great experience for visitors at the 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show. There are two ways, both of which are designed to deliver the best possible experience for visitors and the best showcase for exhibitors.

The deadline to apply to get involved with both opportunities is May 30, 2010.

1) NBS is inviting exhibitors to apply for up to 20m2 free of charge space on which to bring an element of interactivity to their own stands. The activity should be part of the stand and should engage and entertain the visitors as well as promote products on display. The ambition is for up to 20 exhibitors around the show to have interactive elements on their stands.

For more information or to apply email sales@britishmarine.co.uk by the end of May or download an application form here.

2) Five of the visitor attractions have been confirmed, with opportunities for exhibitors and partners to get involved ranging from supplying equipment and staff through to sponsorship.

NBS says the features all offer fun, an educational aspect and the chance for all show visitors to have a go at something or to get on the water. Firm show favourite Classic Boat will be joined by a watersports action pool, an educational ‘Cruising Chute’, a combined model boat pool and kids area and the ‘Knowledge Box’.

See below for more information on the new attractions, or click here for details on the opportunities and how to get involved. The deadline for expressions of interest is end of May 2010.

NBS is really keen to encourage as many exhibitors as possible to get involved with the opportunities available at the 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show, either by helping to supply products, staff, speakers or simply providing entertainment on their own stands.

NBS says its visitors want more things to see and do at the show, plus they want to go home having learnt a new skill or picked up some useful tips and advice. These exciting new attractions, coupled with interactivity dotted around the show on exhibitors stands will provide that and help to ensure everyone who comes to the show has a great experience.
