Liverpool Boat Show taking formal advice
Mackenzie: 'not in liquidation'
LBS: Following the Monday February 14 cancellation of the Liverpool Boat Show, a statement from the directors of organiser MIE was released. This, say Mackenzie and Gower, contained incorrect information.
‘You will already have had our communication yesterday and we have now managed to speak personally to virtually all exhibiting companies who have paid deposits to explain the current situation.
‘As we stated in the earlier e-mail and in our conversations yesterday, we are now fully assessing the cash and asset position of the company and taking formal advice. Contrary to completely inaccurate reports in the press, we are NOT IN LIQUIDATION, and although this may ultimately become inevitable, we are doing everything possible to avoid this.
‘We do fully appreciate how worrying this uncertainty may be for some. Please give us a little time and space to completely understand the position and possible remedies. We are not running away from the need to sort out these problems equitably as possible. We will write to you again formally before Friday March 4th, by which time we will have a clearer picture to share with you.’
