Fuel-efficient motorboat to be exhibited at boot Düsseldorf
Pogo Structures yard will show the latest addition to its fleet at boot Düsseldorf, a fuel-efficient motorboat.
The Finistère-based yard is investing its efforts in a niche market, that of a fuel-efficient cruiser.
“It is about time we at Pogo Structure start exploring new fields outside of mere power and consumption,” explained Christian Bouroullec, yard founder. “We have a good grasp of the manufacture of infused hulls and are skilled at controlling the weight so it seemed coherent for us to put this expertise to good effect in the creation of an extremely fuel-efficient motorised craft.”
And he explained that the hull with its flat aft form has been validated and optimised in a digital test tank and will quickly plane leaving virtually no wake and minimum drag.
She is optimised for an average speed of between 10 and 13 knots with interior features including a galley with a fridge and hot water to a WC, shower and heating. She is approved for up to eight people.
The 9.5m long boat weighs less than two tonnes and is powered by a 75hp Volvo Penta engine.
Fuel consumption is 0.5 litres/mile at a speed of 12 knots. For twin-engine enthusiasts, a version with 2 x 30hp engines is also available.
