Odeo Distress Flare The Odeo Distress Flare's red beam will last for nine hours at full illumination
Industry Database

Ocean Safety, part of the 3Si Group, has become a UK distributor of the Odeo Distress Flare.

As the next generation of electronic visual distress signal device (eVDSD), the flare can be seen for at least three nautical miles and up to six nautical miles if conditions are clear.

Its red beam will last for nine hours at full illumination, powered by four AAL91 lithium batteries.

As a non-pyrotechnic flare, the Odeo has no naked light or heat to ensure it is safe to handle.

Illumination features include dual function flicker and SOS strobe. It also has an infra-red signal for night-time search and rescue.

It has a 50mIP68 rating and weighing 150g, it can be stored in a pocket.

The flare, manufactured by Daniamant, will be displayed by Ocean Safety at METSTRADE.

The ODEO Distress Flare follows on from the ODEO Mk3.
