Wilks launches LED powered pontoon fendering
Wilks is using this year’s METSTRADE to showcase new pontoon fendering powered by LED lighting.
It can illuminate the edge of a berth or by changing the lighting to green and red, can be used to guide craft through a marina entrance.
This is the first in a series of systems incorporating LED lighting.
“Following conversations with marina managers and yacht designers we identified a need for illuminated fendering profiles - whether for practical or aesthetic reasons,” explained joint MD Chris Berry.
“To our knowledge, we are the first to utilise a robust fendering design and having teamed up with a leading UK supplier of LED systems, plan to launch further profiles early next year.”
The current system is available from January 2018.
Wilks’ will also be exhibiting its recently launched BUMP! fendering system - a quick and simple installation which is easier to fit than a traditional ‘D’ fender as it bends to a radius of 80mm without the need to mitre either the track or the body.
Available since the spring, Mr Berry reports BUMP! is proving popular with boatyards and boat owners and he has high expectations for the LED lighting system.
This will be the firm’s 29th year at METSTRADE. The company will be on stand 03.400.
