KVH Industries’ TracPhone V7-HTS system will be one of the key products shown at Seawork by CA Clase.

The 60cm Ku-band satellite antenna system enables leisure boaters and commercial mariners to stream HD content and conduct video calls at sea while simultaneously supporting a free, unlimited use data channel.

The TracPhone V7-HTS achieves data download speeds of up to 10mbps, achieved by a combination of KVH’s proprietary antenna system design and industry-leading mini-VSAT broadband network explained Andy Banting, commercial sales manager for CA Clase.

“The TracPhone V7-HTS is poised to transform the use of broadband at sea,” he said. “For the leisure market, the system is designed to enable yacht owners and their guests to enjoy HD streaming, popular social apps, and other benefits of connectivity for a new era of digital life at sea.”

He added: “For the commercial maritime market, the TracPhone V7-HTS is designed to enable merchant fleets to take advantage of cloud-based software programs, remote system monitoring and data analytics in the pursuit of digitalisation.”

CA Clase will also show the R5 tender tracking system from Saab. The company has used AIS technology to develop its system that is designed to help manage a fleet of support vessels in a way that is both secure and private.

Encrypted channel

Information is transmitted over a separate encrypted channel that only appropriate authorised transponders can decode, explained Andy.

“The system uses the R5 SUPREME TTS AIS for the yacht itself; the R5 SOLID TTS AIS for tender boats and service vessels and the R5A airborne transponder qualified for use in helicopters and planes,” he said. “It offers full view of both public and private position reports of nearby vessels in all visibility conditions, helps determine estimated time of arrival of your support assets and the ability to track the position history of your fleet.”

CA Clase will be on stand PG63
