The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) and Seawork International announces a new industry sector partnership.

The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) is partnering with Seawork International, Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition, to develop the new SMI Shipyard Pavilion. The SMI is the trade association for the UK’s maritime engineering and business sector, promoting and supporting companies working in this global and dynamic industry.

Seawork is regarded as the industry’s one-stop-shop, comprises an exhibition, conference and awards. Now in its 21st year, it brings together over 7,600 industry professionals, 10,500 items of equipment and services, together with over 70 vessels afloat and ashore.

Tom Chant, SMI’s Director of Business Development, said, “We are always looking for ways to interact with our membership and create more contacts and awareness of the SMI’s work.  Seawork brings together a concentration of the UK and European commercial marine industry and we are looking forward to supporting our members by tapping into this annual focal point for our industry sector.”

Andrew Webster, CEO of Mercator Media; organiser of Seawork International, said, “Seawork provides buyers and influencers with direct access to the commercial marine and workboat market, its equipment, its innovations and its people. This is a very positive development for both exhibitors and visitors. We are delighted that SMI is taking the opportunity to support its membership in such a direct way and look forward to welcoming the society and its members to the 21st year of Seawork.”

The newly named SMI Shipyard Pavilion is open to complementary organisations and can accommodate 8 companies within the exhibition pods and further companies in the surrounding graphics area.  Each company will benefit from the Pavilion’s shared meeting space and planned networking reception.

If your business is interested in joining the SMI Shipyard Pavilion at Seawork, please contact Tom Chant on 020 7628 2555 or the Seawork sales team on 01329 820096 or email
Seawork 2018 takes place 3-5 July 2018 in Mayflower Park, Southampton, UK.

As 91% of visitors to Seawork authorise or influence purchasing decisions, Seawork is the platform for commercial marine businesses to showcase vessels, services and equipment across five exhibition halls, extensive waterside exhibits and 890 metres of pontoons, to a global audience of over 7,600 visitors from more than 70 countries.
