A UV and water-resistant marine carpet offers durability in all conditions and climates and a unique non-synthetic feel.

Teak Carpet UK’s carpet features UV, water and mould-resistant marine grade 100% solution dyed polypropylene BCF fibres. These are combined with a waterproof Aquabac backing which enables water to flow away rather than be absorbed, helping to prevent mould.

“Teak Carpet is a waterproof Australian product which simulates a teak deck. It has been on the market for ten to15 years but is still new to the UK,” said Alan Hathaway, sales and marketing manager at Trimnet, which owns Teak Carpet and is the sole UK distributor.

Colour stabilisation

The carpet has high quality colour stabilisation materials used for yarn extrusion and is also salt and chlorine resistant.

Cleanable with a hose and a brush, the tufted carpet is soft underfoot and comes in 20 different styles. The tufting technique and built in backing also allows for sound absorption.

The backing comprises marine grade UV stabilized polypropylene woven cloth with specifically developed adhesives for tuft locking cut and loop pile.

Depending on carpet pattern and style, the carpet is manufactured in 2m and/or 4m wide pieces.

Teak Carpet UK will be exhibiting on stand J200 at TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show.
