QUEEN’S AWARDS: The 2010 Queen’s Birthday Honours brought a CBE for Rod Carr, outgoing chief executive of the RYA. Mr Carr was honoured with an OBE in 2005 and now becomes a CBE for his services to sailing.
MBEs went to Geoff Holt for his services to disabled sailing and to Harry Arnold for his services to the Inland Waterways.
OBEs went to Robert Hill, MD of Chemring Marine, for his services to the marine industry, fisherman Paul White for voluntary services to Hasting coastguard and John Green for voluntary services to Helford River Children’s Sailing Trust.
