As the attendance at the PSP Southampton Boat Show gradually equals the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show, more suggest the south coast show is the better of the two. This award maybe confirms it.

AWARD: The British Marine Federation (BMF) was awarded Exhibition of the Year at the Trade Association Forum Awards earlier this month.

The winning show was the 2009 PSP Southampton Boat Show, organised by National Boat Shows (NBS).

The judges’ criteria was for evidence of an exhibition either in the UK or overseas, run by or on behalf of a trade association, that clearly demonstrates a commercial success and has acted as a focal point for the represented sector, providing opportunities for members as a result.

‘We’re delighted to have won Exhibition of the Year for the 2009 PSP Southampton Boat Show,’ said Andrew Williams, MD of NBS. ‘This endorses the event as a major showcase for members, exhibitors and the whole marine industry.’

Importantly, he added, it achieved an increase in attendance during a year when the exhibition industry in general was typically experiencing flat or declining visitor numbers.
