High temperature hardeners launched
West System International (WSI) has developed two new PRO-SET high temperature hardeners with higher thermal properties than its existing range.
The hardeners were created for use with WSI’s standard PRO-SET laminating and infusion epoxy resins. These cured systems are able to resist very high temperatures and are therefore ideal for use in processes where high temperature resistance is required.
Speaking of the PRO-SET LAM-249-HT high temperature hardener, WSI said that when used with PRO-SET LAM-125 resin, DSC onset Tg’s of 121 degrees Celsius are achievable. When used with PRO-SET LAM-135 resin, DSC onset Tg’s of 128 degrees Celsius are achievable.
Referring to the PRO-SET INF-249-HT high temperature hardener, WSI explained that when used with PRO-SET INF-114 resin, DSC onset Tg’s of 117 degrees Celsius are achievable.
PRO-SET composite products include a specialist range of epoxy systems including infusion epoxies, wet lay-up systems, adhesives, accessories and fairing compounds.
The products are used for building high-performance, lightweight composite structures that can withstand the harshest environments.
