10% increase in power with Honda’s latest generator
Honda (UK) has launched its latest generator, the EU22i which is the successor to the EU20i.
The new generator has a 10% increase in power to 2.2kW plus a range of enhancements designed to make it more durable and user friendly yet it is almost the same in size and weight as the model it replaces.
The EU22i uses inverter technology that provides clean and stable electricity suitable for charging a range of devices including laptops or acting as a back-up for more demanding equipment.
Honda’s eco-throttle mode remains a feature of the EU22i - constantly adjusting engine speed to match electrical output with load.
The ability to link units for extra power through parallel operation is also possible.
The generator uses Honda’s four-stroke GXR120 (120cc) engine, with operating noise 91db (A) and operating time up to 8.1 hours on one fill.
Enhancements include a new fuel valve arrangement to prevent fuel going stale during extended periods of storage. Fuel supply can be switched off while the engine is running until all fuel in the carburetor is consumed and the engine stops.
An extended rubber channel has been included to make engine oil changing and filling easier and cleaner, in addition, a larger diameter filler opening has been incorporated.
Durability enhancements to the recoil starter housing offer improved resistance to wear and damage.
The new engine also offers improved handling of varying load demand, with faster speed recovery when load increases and cleaner combustion.
The EU22i comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty for leisure customers and one- year for professional users.
The unit weighs 21.1kg.
