Additional features from Furuno
The Furuno FM4800 is a new all-in-one marine VHF Radio, designed to deliver performance and reliability and to aid safety whilst on the water.
This communication device offers more useful features than its predecessors, including a 25W VHF with built-in Class D DSC and a simplified loudhailer with intercom.
“The FM4800 is much more than a VHF, this little dynamo is more like a five-in-one multi-tool. It’s a VHF with DSC capabilities, features a built-in GPS receiver, a built-in AIS receiver, a loud hailer/fog horn and it can connect to a NavNet TZtouch2, allowing it to initiate DSC calls directly from the MFD,” said Jeff Kauzlaric, Furuno advertising and communications manager.
The unit is IP68 rated and has a plug and play NMEA2000 interface allowing it to be connected to other onboard navigation devices.
The Furuno LH5000 loud hailer has been designed to optimise onboard safety features, especially in situations when there is a requirement to draw attention to a vessel or alert nearby vessels.
“Whether you are a recreational boater, or make your living on the water every day, the LH5000 loud hailer is one of those pieces of equipment that can make your boating experience safer when you need it the most,” explained Jeff.
“The LH5000 can immediately draw attention to your boat with either voice or horns to notify other vessels of your presence, especially important when visibility is impaired due to fog, rain and even darkness.”
