Sonar-recording data is analysed to reveal the presence of vegetation and bottom hardness density

Humminbird’s AutoChart Live is enabling users to map the depth contour of any body of water.

When AutoChart Live is turned on, sonar-recording data is analysed to reveal the presence of vegetation and bottom hardness density, information that provides additional chart layer options that can be used in variable transparencies over depth contour lines.

"These improved features provide anglers with a trifecta of insightful data,” said Ray Schaffart, Humminbird’s brand manager. “Depth contour is only one small piece of the puzzle while fishing.

“Adding bottom hardness and vegetation data allows anglers to more quickly locate and understand those fish-holding areas that have historically been so difficult to find.

“For example, areas where the bottom changes from soft to hard, or small pockets of hard bottom in otherwise weedy areas.”

AutoChart Live, distributed by Marathon Leisure in the UK, come pre-loaded in all G2N models within the HELIX 7, 9, 10 and 12 families and all SOLIX models.

Boaters can choose to keep their data private or to share it.
