Supershift 2 ZF’s Supershift 2 enables transmissions to react instantaneously to shift input signals
Industry Database

ZF’s Supershift 2 is now available for further gearbox models, enabling transmissions to react instantaneously to shift input signals.

ZF’s latest shift technology offers a 30% reduction in RPM drop and peak torque reduction of up to 40%, generating a smoother shift to deliver better comfort and control for operators, said ZF.

Paul Dean, business manager for marine at ZF Services UK, commented: “ZF identified the need to create a solution that integrates with many of the latest engine controls and monitoring systems, as well as one that meets the requirements of operators now and in the future.”

The technology negates the need for an additional hydraulic circuit through its enhanced clutch pack configuration and efficient hydraulic system, explained ZF.

Supershift 2 is incorporated as standard equipment on high horsepower ZF marine transmissions and will now be available from the ZF 280 family up to the ZF 665 family.

It can also be combined with ZF’s AutoTroll functionality for safe and low-speed maneuvering.
