The Waterways Trust has appointed the natural history expert and television presenter, Miranda Krestovnikoff, as a vice president of the Waterways Trust charity.

APPOINTMENT: Miranda Krestovnikoff, the specialist presenter on BBC’s One Show and Coast, has been appointed vice president of the Waterways Trust charity.

The presenter joins broadcaster John Craven, actors David Suchet and Timothy West, antiques expert Paul Atterbury and waterway icon Sonia Rolt as a vice president of The Waterways Trust. HRH The Prince of Wales is Patron of The Waterways Trust.

In addition to The One Show and Coast, Ms Krestovnikoff has appeared as guest presenter on Countryfile. Fascinated with aquatic life, she's also worked on a number of associated television programmes including Wreck Detectives and Water Warriors.

As well as television work, Ms Krestovnikoff has presented the Breakfast Programme on BBC Radio 3, writes articles for Diver magazine and plays in the New Bristol Sinfonia orchestra.

Speaking of her appointment as the charity’s newest vice president, Ms Krestovnikoff said: ‘I’m thrilled to become a vice president of The Waterways Trust. I’m passionate about the British countryside.’

Our inland waterways are a perfect example, she added. ‘Regardless of the time of year there is always a wealth of wildlife waiting to be discovered. One thing I never forget however is not to take these precious habitats for granted.’
