boot 2015

The latest in European news from European Boating Industry

boot 2015 is already a history but judging from the inquiries received, the theme of our event caught your attention.

Addressing trade & market prospects in 2015, our international conference looked at the situation of the boating industry on its main markets.

New rules for the EU single market were introduced together with an overview of the main European markets presented by Jean-Pierre Goudant, Vice-President of European Boating Industry.

It also showed that North America stands out, in comparison with Asia or South America, where uncertainties and import barriers are still a big difficulty for trade.

Tom Marhevko Vice-President of National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) presented the US and Canadian markets and rules and touched upon the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (TTIP) agreement and future benefits it could bring for boating.

Christoph Ballin, CEO of Torqeedo (leading electric propulsion engines company), shared his successful experience of exporting to the USA, informing about all the necessary do-s and don'ts.

Mike Derrett, owner of Mike Derrett Marine (consultancy company), gave an overview of the situation in the South-East Asia and Xavier de Montgros, Associate Director of ODC Marine (boatbuilder & importer) explained how to enter the Chinese market, stay over there and do the business.

Murielle Gonzalez Oisel, IBI journalist, described the boating markets in the Central and South America, with main focus on less known countries, such as Costa Rica and Columbia.

The conference was organised by Messe Düsseldorf and European Boating Industry for the 3rd consecutive year.

The next edition is already confirmed and will take place on Wednesday, 27 January 2016.
