Off and running
The fall/autumn boat show season is off and running here in the US, and there are some interesting things to look out for in the next couple of months. While others take place before it the one that is seen to “kick off” the season on September 15th is the Rhode Island-based Newport International Boat Show.
Look out for the Newport for New Products (NFNP) Awards. Now in its eleventh season, and in partnership with leading national marine publications, NFNP is a highlight of the industry, helping to publicize what’s new and exciting for boaters.
On October 4th the IBEX Trade Show takes place in Tampa, FL. Look out for the Pitch the Press event. Held for the past two years, it gives manufacturers and their reps a short window of opportunity to highlight their hot new products to the press, in the same place at the same time.
Then on October 6th comes the United States Sailboat Show held in Annapolis, MD. Look out for over fifty multihulls this year to be presented by twenty-five manufacturers, creating (according to the organizers) the largest collection of catamarans and trimarans in the world.
This show season, the NMMA, who will produce 20 shows throughout the US tells Boating Business it will take a new approach with how it amplifies the broad array of new products featured at each of its shows. Through pre-show and onsite marketing and communications, boats, engines and accessories will take center stage like never before, as NMMA brings to life its exhibitors’ innovative technologies and exciting new products.
