BOAT SHOW: The 2012 Düsseldorf International Boat Show closed with visitor numbers down by just 1.5% to 246,700 people. But, as with the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show, it seems good business was done.

“We are very satisfied with how the trade fair went,” said Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, CEO and president of show organiser Messe Düsseldorf. “We have succeeded in stabilising the number of visitors at the previous event’s high level.”

Almost 50% of visitors took an interest in sailing boats or yachts, with just one in three wanting information on powerboats. Marine equipment and accessories were of interest to 36% of visitors.
