SMG adds Solar Technology to its portfolio
In a world where the consequences of a throw- away society is starting to become evident, consumers are increasingly looking for products to help reduce their impact on the earth’s environment.
Solar is an obvious off-grid solution and in a bid to give customers a wider eco-choice, marine electronics distributor SMG has added Solar Technology to its portfolio.
UK-based Solar Technology designs panels with crystalline silicon technology; more efficient than amorphous and thin film solutions, their rigid or flexible panels are particularly suited to the lower light conditions found in the UK.
“Our customers asked us to stock a range of solar panels, so we investigated and found a multitude of different brands on the market," said SMG MD Ray Badminton. "A lot were low quality, cheaper panels which really don’t work well with our low light levels, so when Solar Technology approached us to distribute their products, which are specifically designed for the UK, it didn’t take long for us to agree to add the brand to our portfolio.”
A range of Solar Technology products are available from SMG including 5W to 150W rigid and semi-flexible panels which come in easy-to-fit kits containing all connectors, cables and comprehensive user instructions.
The solar panels whether flexi, rigid or fold up can be used on boats, campervans, caravans and barges.
Solar Technology sales manager, Jeremy Usher, comments: “We’re delighted SMG is offering our panels to marine trade customers keen to buy our products. Our panels are some of the best on the market and built to withstand the harshest of marine environments.”
