Marine glazing company Trend Marine Products has confirmed the sale of its parent company, Taylor Made Group to Lippert Components.

Taylor Made operates out of ten bases worldwide, including two in Europe supplying a diverse range of supplies to boatbuilders and the marine aftermarket.

The company also supplies to industrial and other markets.

“Over the past 110 years we have grown the business to include facilities in the US, Ireland and the UK and employ more than 1,100 people worldwide,” said Jim Taylor, owner of Taylor Made Group.

“With this transaction, we are positioning the company for continued long term, sustained growth.”

No impact

The sale will have no immediate impact on Trend Marine Products.

“For the time being it is business as usual for Trend Marine as we continue to grow our market share in both marine and non-marine,” confirmed Jim Boulton, director of sales and service, Trend Marine.

“The acquisition of the group comes at a time when Trend is investing heavily in new glass processing machinery and a duplication of its current production lines in order to meet increasing demand.”

He continued: “We have turned our business around over the last three years and are positioned for an aggressive push on the market in 2018 with strong backing and an increasingly diverse product portfolio.

“Our current and forward order book is very strong and we have seen double digit growth throughout 2017 with no signs of this letting up during 2018 and beyond.”

Trend Marine employs more than 170 people at its Great Yarmouth base and supplies windows and glazing to many of the world’s luxury boat builders.
