SOUTH COAST: Workshops on using epoxy technology in the marine environment are to be held by the Wessex Resins Technical Support Group, writes Iain Sutherland.
Everyone attending gains hands on experience, being able to mix as much epoxy as they like and have the opportunity to experiment with the entire range of West System fillers for bonding, gap filling, filleting and fairing. Delegates will have the opportunity to utilise their new skills and, in addition to using West System epoxy and fibreglass fabrics to complete a sheathing exercise, they will take home over £50 of West System materials.
The workshops will run on Thursday 30 October, Saturday 1 November, Thursday 27 November, Thursday 5 February and Saturday 7 February 2009, and are to be held at Wessex Resins and Adhesives in Romsey, Hampshire.
Included is a brief history of epoxy technology, the advantages of using epoxy and highlights the benefits of West System products for all types of applications. There is also an open forum at the end of the day that allows users to ask questions regarding the use of epoxy for the construction, repair and maintenance of their own boats. It will also give rise to some general epoxy/boating discussions.
These courses become over subscribed very quickly and it is therefore essential to book early. The cost is £140: for more information contact 01794 521111, information@wessex-resins.com or visit www.wessex-resins.com.
