Henri Lloyd to open French operation
Ben Ainslie is a powerful role model for Henri Lloyd
With a worldwide workforce of more than 300, wholly-owned subsidiaries in the USA and Poland – where Henri Lloyd clothing is manufactured – the company is to set up a French operation based in Lorient.
HENRI LLOYD: Henri Lloyd is to open an operation in France targeting the French sailing market.
‘We have been operating in France for three years now and previously worked with a distributor there, but we have now amicably parted company with them,’ joint chief executive Martin Strzelecki told the Manchester Evening News. ‘We recruited their sales manager to come and work for us and we’ll now set up a showroom and office in Lorient.’
Mr Strzelecki said that the French outpost was initially being run from its headquarters in Worsley, but the company could set up a French subsidiary in the future, depending on how it grows.
Henri Lloyd already operates wholly owned subsidiaries in the USA and Poland, where the clothing is manufactured. The company has more than 325 staff worldwide, with around 100 at its head office and another 25 in stores across Greater Manchester.
The brand is sold in 44 countries and its turnover grew by 8% last year to nearly £30m.
