Aqua Narrowboats based at Mercia Marina in Willington, Derbyshire has been commissioned to undertake the fit out of the 100th shell built by Graham Edgson of Norton Canes Boatbuilders.

INLAND WATERWAYS: A Derbyshire based boatbuilder is currently undertaking the fit out of a celebratory narrowboat shell. The boat is the 100th shell built by Graham Edgson of Norton Canes Boatbuilders.

The owners of the new shell are Jan and John Callender who already own a narrowboat moored at Mercia. They approached Aqua Narrowboats over a year ago to discuss the fit out project.

The boat, named Honesty, designed by the owners, will feature many traditional elements such as a full Boatman’s cabin, but will also incorporate more modern technology with the hydraulically driven propeller and LED lighting throughout.

‘It’s important to have a good relationship with your customers as you’re building their dream,’ said Graham Edgson, owner of Norton Canes Boatbuiilders. ‘I look forward to watching Aqua Narrowboats completing the build of Honesty.’
