METS 2015: The keynote speaker at the METS 2015 Breakfast Briefing on 17 November will be Peter Sander, manager emerging technologies & concepts at AIRBUS Industries.

Mr Sander will speak on the subject of ‘On the way to Additive Layer Manufacturing: Chances & Challenges for future of design & industrial production’.

During his talk he will leverage on his 34 years of experience in the aviation industry to explore the world of 3D printing or - to use its more precise title - Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM).

Mr Sander will also discuss the impact of biomimetic structure design and its inclusion in the application of ALM. Both are of great interest to the marine equipment and boatbuilding sectors, which are also leading the way in the implementation of new technologies.

His presentation will include an overview of the key factors, details on materials and processes and tips on how to convince, designers and management for the new industrial value chain.

The Breakfast Briefing is the traditional kick-off of the three-day METS meeting at Amsterdam RAI, where the winners of the DAME awards will be announced.
