River Canal Rescue has joined with ABC Leisure Group to offer its moorers a discounted membership package.

The deal involves ABC covering the costs of RCR’s retainer cover for its almost 400 members with the package including nationwide breakdown assistance and recovery, home start and provision pick-up, crisis co-ordination and technical phone assistance 24/7.

Each call-out is worth £45 and provides an onsite engineer for up to two hours.

24/7 support

“ABC leads the field in leisure hire and clearly sees the benefits of ensuring its moorers have access to assistance and support 24/7,” said RCR MD Stephanie Horto. “With competition increasing annually for berths across the system, developing innovative packages that deliver cost savings and enhanced benefits is key to attracting new customers.”

ABC marketing and sales director, Haley Hadley added: “We’re delighted to work in partnership with RCR and give our customers greater peace of mind; it fits well with our ethos to exceed expectations in all we do.

“This deal ensures that if any ABC members have issues with their engine, propulsion or electrical systems while on the waterways or at their home moorings, they have immediate access to help and assistance.”

20% discount

ABC customers who are already members of RCR will receive a 20% discount while they continue to moor at one of its ten marinas across the UK.

In 2017 RCR responded to around 4700 call-outs and more than 160 incidents.

ABC Leisure Group built and operated a hire fleet and provided marina services, including brokerage, to canal users for more than 40 years.
