Around 26,000 visited the 19th Crick Boat Show which took place at Crick Marina in Northamptonshire.

The event, organised by Waterways World in partnership with the Canal & River Trust and Crick Marina, saw 300 exhibitors attend including the Arleigh Group’s marine operation that was among many companies seeing record levels of business.

This was the first time the three companies - Midland Chandlers, ASAP Supplies and Aquafax - have appeared at a show together since the sale of Aquafax to the group last month.

“All three sister companies have reported that this year’s show was the best ever with Midland Chandlers having a record breaking day on the Saturday for products purchased at the show,” said Arleigh Group marine manager, Darren Cook.

Hedley Beavis of Engines Plus was also among many of the exhibitors who reported the show had been 'flat out' especially on the Saturday while Chris Fower of Fisher Panda UK also said the show had been non-stop.

Peter Johns, publisher of Waterways World and show director, added: "We’ve enjoyed another fantastic three days of trading and celebration of the canal boat industry here at Crick Boat Show.

“Exhibitors reported very healthy levels of business, with boat builders securing good orders for boats and all other businesses delighted with the visitor numbers.”

In addition, almost 1,500 enjoyed free boat trips along the Grand Union Canal and more than 2,000 attended the free seminars on boat ownership.

Next year’s show will take place from May 25 – 27.
