Mailspeed: two stores closed; five made redundant
Mailspeed owners Friday-Ad closed the Burnham and Wallasea stores on February 18 after deciding the results were not good enough.
CLOSURES: A statement released by Friday-Ad said: ‘Over the second part of last year, on the back of reporting improvements, we became able to identify individual profitability levels for each store.
‘After careful review, we sadly came to the conclusion that the results for both Burnham and Wallasea were not enough for them to carry on trading.’
Laure Moyle, retail director of Friday-Ad told the company’s employees: ‘I’d like to confirm that this decision has been made at individual location level. Warrington, web operations, mail order, events and trade counter sales will carry on as normal.’
I hope everyone will understand this is a business decision taken on two independent stores that doesn’t affect our commitment to the brand or the development of Mailspeed, Ms Moyle told BB. Five staff were made redundant in the closures.
