New dry stack is opened
Portland Marina’s new dry stack facility has been officially opened.
The dry stack provides undercover storage for 150 boats of up to 9.9m long.
The stack itself is 19m high and 84m long and contains racks that can adjusted for different hull shapes.
“The dry stack was part of the original plans for Portland Marina and we are delighted that it is now build and providing secure storage for more boat owners,” said Richard Reddyhoff, Dean & Reddyhoff – marina owners – chairman.
The stack will be clad on three sides with the cladding due to be installed in this autumn.
It was designed and built by local contractors Mayhew Callum and CG Fry & Son.
A two-hour launch service and valet fuelling is offered.
As well as offering more secure storage for more boat owners, building the dry stack has freed-up more on-site car parking spaces and has allowed Dean & Reddyhoff to build a new boatshed, forming a dive centre for Skin Deep.
