This year’s Marine Industry Regatta reverts to the original April dates, but still gives a day’s team building/networking for under a grand.

REGATTA: This year’s Marine Industry Regatta runs out of Port Solent on Wednesday April 21 in Sunsail’s Jeanneau Sun Fast 37s. We’re targeting 15 boats and have 10 booked in so far.

We collect the boats on the Tuesday evening, April 20. With itineraries checked by the skipper and nominated crew, it’s off to the Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club bar for an evening of networking, the crew dinner and the presentation of the charity cheque to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.

The cost of a boat is £985.00 including VAT and the £100 donation to the JMST.

For that, you get the Tuesday evening supper for eight crew (including a couple of pitchers of beers per boat), breakfast bacon rolls on the Wednesday, a packed lunch for eight crew for the Wednesday, up to four races in the Solent, all race administration, tea and buns after racing, prizes down to 4th place and the prizegiving ceremony.

The entry list is currently 10 boats: Barton Marine, Boating Business, the BMF, Bruntons Propellers, Cooney Marine, Halyard/ADPR, Practical Boat Owner/Yachting Monthly, International Paint, Sunsail 1 and Sunsail 2.

You can share a boat to cut costs if necessary. The Marine Industry Regatta is supported by Boating Business, British Sailing, Practical Boat Owner, Yachting Monthly, Saltwater and Sunsail. Funds raised will go to the John Merricks Sailing Trust.
