Nicholas Prentice joins Richmond Aerovac

23 Feb 2012

Nicholas Prentice has been appointed technical sales engineer at Richmond Aerovac. He’s widely recognised as an expert in resin infusion techniques and will augment a technical team that already offers a superior level of technical support to the composites industry.

After studying Yacht Manufacture & Management at Southampton Institute (now Southampton Solent University) Mr Prentice worked in the composite supply industry in South Africa. Training by SP Gurit, Hexcel and other world industry leaders, and extensive experience with AMT Composites, gave him a strong materials background.

This was followed by four years at Southern Wind Shipyards in Cape Town, as head of department, hull and decks producing 90-110ft luxury sailing yachts. He pushed the possibilities of infusion within the marine context and with the use of Richmond Aerovac process consumables was able to manufacture large and complex structures that were previously thought of as being not possible with resin infusion.
