Shamrock Quay wins MDL’s floral dance

MDL Marinas has announced the winners of its annual MDL in Bloom competition, rewarding green-fingered teams across its 21 marina sites who enter a variety of garden displays and floral arrangements into the competition.
GREEN FINGERS: MDL Marinas runs an annual competition to reward the green fingered teams that decorate the company’s 21 marinas. The competition has five categories - best borders and beds, best hanging baskets, best tubs and containers, the ‘X’ Factor and best overall marina display.
Scooping the ‘X’ Factor title and the coveted best overall award was Shamrock Quay Marina in Southampton – receiving an engraved trophy and gift vouchers for its marina team.
Best borders and beds was won by Woolverstone Marina in Ipswich, while best hanging baskets went to Mercury Yacht Harbour on the River Hamble. Hamble Point Marina took the award for best tubs and containers.
All category winners received gift vouchers for the marina teams, plus a trophy to display at the marina.
‘Our marina teams work so hard throughout the year to make sure the marinas always look their best, so it’s great to be able to recognise and reward all the hard work and effort that goes into achieving this with the MDL in Bloom awards,’ said MDL MD Jon Eads.
